Follow the Powerlines
Follow the powerlines
Deb Peacock
There is so much going on for people individually, for communities and for the world all at once at this time. God has been saying to me lately, “follow the powerlines, follow the powerlines.” He is the power, the ultimate power for each of us and for all the earth. It is by his power that each of us and all that we see with the earth came into being. There is other power around but nothing comes close to God’s power.
“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
“The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets.” Psalms 50:1
We can pray and declare in his power despite how we feel. This week I have been reminded everyday by the Lord, that my feelings don’t determine whether God’s power is available. No matter what I feel, I can pray and know God’s power is at hand.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-11
Often what we are feeling is the problem and it is important to remember that his power is greater. The feelings are indicating problems as signposts, they are not the power. God is the power. His power, God, is the solution. When we feel death around us, we can seek God’s power for life.
FOLLOW THE POWERLINES
Following the powerlines, means that when we feel the problem, we feel the gravity of the darkness, the pressure, the relentless opposition we need to look to God and follow what he says. We need to pray what he says. We need to speak out what he is saying. We follow his line of operation, we follow his line of process, his line of power. We can look around at what he is doing and follow him.
THE POWERLINES ARE ABOVE
We look up to God’s direction and it is higher than our ways. The problems generally cause us to look around us and downwards, they take our eyes off the goal, and bring hopelessness. Gods lines of power are up higher and when we look to him and see he is working, we have hope restored.
Commit to speaking what the Lord is directing. Ask him what to pray. What a relief that when our feelings are too much and it’s too hard, we just pray what God says to pray. His word to us is what we can pray. Choose today, to follow the powerlines, follow the Lord who is constantly working. He is not absent with occasional power shocks. He is present always, his power is available just like a power line and we can follow what he is doing.

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.” Ephesians 1:18-21
