His words steady us

If you’ve lost your bearings, his word will restore them. Sometimes we need to ask him to show us where we are in a situation before we seek direction for it. 

He knows. He is with you. He goes before you. 

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalms 119:105

God’s words to us will bring direction and we often pray and go to him when we feel lost and don’t know what to do. Sometimes though we miss the first part - knowing where we are. Sometimes we want to know where to go and bypass understanding where we currently are. We don’t want to face our current situation. Perhaps we just don’t realise how solid the foundation is where we are, how supported we are and so we lack assurance and confidence to take the next step. If we don’t know where we are in a situation, we might not understand what God is telling us to be the next step. His word of direction might not make sense to us.

If you don’t understand what he is saying is the next step, let him show you where you are in that situation so you can get your bearings first.
