Spirit surfer

Surf the waves.

Deb Peacock

In life we have difficult situations and circumstances that come in and sometimes they come in sets, one after another. Sometimes we simply have change after change after change and can’t anchor down. It feels like getting smashed around in a big wave and when you come up for air and open your eyes you open just in time to see the next massive wave hit you.

But God says we can surf these waves. Instead of being thrashed around by their power with no ability to stand firm, we can go on his foundation and ride them. This means we can go beyond enduring them, we can be equipped and trained to be able to ride them.... and have an adventure.

God is this good to us. He will show us how to do life in this world where we are more than not overcome - we can thrive.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:37

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Like a lot of things, learning to surf takes practise and commitment. Learning to surf the waves of life well, takes commitment and practise with the Lord. Let him show you today the first steps to learning how to surf, to be a spirit surfer. He equips you because he goes with you into everything you face. You learn on the job with Jesus. Choose to go with Jesus and surf the waves today. Blessings!

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
