There is another way.

That stuck situation that you are in that there seems to be no solution for. What if there was another way of seeing it? What if that different way of seeing it meant you could then see a solution?

I had a vision of mind renewal (Romans 12:2) looking like a GPS map. In the middle of the map was the main highway that I always drive on to get just about anywhere. As I often see these days, the highway was highlighted red in colour meaning it was clogged and slow. Over the years this road has become slower and slower.

God was showing that the main way we go is the easier way and it’s the well known way. But - it is not the only way. It is the automatic choice and we assume it is the fastest as well.

A few weeks ago, I went to walk to a cafe my usual way and felt prompted by God to go a different way. I knew of this way but I discarded it every time in the past because I decided it was less convenient. As I went this way, I realised two things. 1. It was no less convenient and 2. It was faster.

Sometimes the alternate way of God is going to be better AND faster.

God was showing me a better way. I had to be willing to try it.

When we get trapped in automatic responses and ways of thinking, at first it is fast and straightforward, the easier option. Then we get used to it but it doesn’t stay easy and it doesn’t stay fast. It becomes clogged and hard. But we are committed to this way. We forget about there being another way.

God has been saying, “what if there was another way to see the situation?” You might be stuck and only seeing the situation this one way but there is another way to see it. Another way of looking at it - God has a different way.

Ask him for the different way of seeing your situation. Ask him for his way. Slow down enough to consider it. It’s not a big deal to pause and go slow in looking at something differently - after all the run down the highway is getting slower by the day. And remember, you have to be willing to try it.
