We hurry to cover up our worry. When we hand the worry to God, we enter into rest.

Deb Peacock

As I have realised the rushing in my head, I am learning to see that as a signal to go to Jesus, go to my Heavenly Father as his child and tell him about it. While there, I don’t need to worry about what he might say to me because at this point, sorting it out isn’t priority. Being with someone who cares, is.

I’m noticing after a bit, his response is to say, “would you like me to take care of that for you?” At this point I often don’t need to know what will happen or what he will do, because, he is simply going to take care of it for me; just as he is taking care of me and my heart in this moment. If he requires me to take action, he will let me know and until then, I can rest there with him, be taken care of and not worry about it at all.

We hurry to cover up our worry. Hurrying might be working hard and rushing around doing many things but also might be rushing in your thoughts, in your mind. When something concerning is on our minds, we can rush around in our thoughts trying to think it all through and work it all out.

So if you’re feeling tired, especially emotionally tired, you might be hurrying to cover up your worry.

God says he cares for you.

He cares for your heart.

He takes care of you.

He takes care of the things that burden you and worry you.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for you souls. Matthew 11:28-29

We need to believe what God says about us more than anyone else believes what God says about us.
