Hurry and awe don’t exist together

We have to choose what we will take.

It is in the profound that we are led to wonder and awe. Profound can’t be accessed in a hurry.


To be able to take in the fullness, the depth and breadth of something profound we need to be present. We need to be fully present as there is just so much of the Lord to take in that is around us. But if you are in a rush, you can’t take it in and it passes you by. To really experience the Lord’s love and grace, we need to be present, for he is profound, greater than we can imagine. 


Hurry and profound don’t exist together, we have to choose what we will take. 


Lord slow us to see the wonder and awe of you that we might know the height, the depth and breadth of your love. We praise your holy name.

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
