Get your head IN the clouds. HEAVENLY PERSPECTIVE IS THE VISION.

Deb Peacock

To those feeling stuck in the hard situation, feeling tired and drained from the detail and pressure to get everything right; to those where it is relentless like hit after hit, feeling much older than you are and weary from the fight - God is calling us to look up and get our head in the clouds. He has heavenly perspective he is releasing to you. This is a call to take pause, and to step back from the doing and recalibrate. It isn’t to stop completely and be unproductive. It is a brief pause that needs to happen regularly for us to hold the tension and function well.

CLEAR VISION FROM THE LORD

God wants us to have the bigger vision at hand and he is releasing it to us. He is in the details and he is also in the big picture. God is pointing out that we need the bigger vision. So, he is calling us to look up. When we look up we will see him, we will be filled with HOPE once again and the perspective of heaven above fills us anew. Suddenly those details that had become mountains are restored to being mere hills and we remember the big vision of what we are here for. We remember God’s awesome power and grace. We remember HE IS WITH US. We remember he holds the outcome in his bigger hands of responsibility.

God is reminding that when we feel hopeless, weary and weighed down we look downwards and our posture drags down. Our hands are below our heads which means when we work hard, doing the tasks at hand continuously with focus, we are also looking downwards. We are prone to getting caught in the relentless doing and we begin to think we have to keep going and doing all the jobs. You might be thinking there is not time to stop or break. What you are focussing on seems enormous. Some are facing huge mountainous struggles right now and you feel hopeless and in despair. You feel a pressure to get every step right or else it will fail and your hopes won’t be realised.

Just like when we are working at a computer, the advice is to pause every so often and look off into the distance to bring health to our eyes by releasing the strain of intense focus, God is calling us to look up and see the big picture. He wants it to happen regularly. The more intense the focus on our situations required the more frequent we need to look up and into heaven and restore the perspective so we can be strengthened with hope renewed for the task we are in.

Praise the Lord, my soul,

and forget not all his benefits—

who satisfies your desires with good things

so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalm 103:2, 5

but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:31

GOD IS WITH YOU

When the Israelites looked up in the day God was leading them by a cloud and they could see if it was time to move or time to carry on where they were. They looked up to their provider in dependence on him. Then, at night, they looked up and the fire was there showing them the time of whether to stay or to go, all the time showing God to them and that he was with them. No matter where they went, when they looked up they could see God is available, accessible and with them.

God is with you. Look up from your hands and see he is there. He also sees the whole picture at once and can show you perspective that you need right now. Looking downwards gives all focus on the doing and makes it hard to see what is really going on. The more intense we become in focus the less flexible we are to see the bigger picture.

HEAVEN’S PERSPECTIVE

When do you need to pause, look upwards and see God is there, take a moment to let him restore your perspective and then be renewed in strength and vigour? His perspective is available and it is one filled with HOPE that STRENGTHENS and RENEWS.

HIS PERSPECTIVE WILL MOVE AND REDIRECT SOME - as you look up you will see he has moved, the cloud has moved and it’s time to adjust.

HIS PERSPECTIVE WILL STRENGTHEN SOME - to hold the fort, stay steady and continue to wait.

HIS PERSPECTIVE WILL HEAL SOME - as you see the whole picture, pressure is released on that issue and you are ready to let go.

HIS PERSPECTIVE WILL HEAL OTHERS - as you see his loving presence to care for you and hold you close in the pain.

Look up! Look up! No matter where you are, or where you go he is not small or confusing amongst the mess, he is majestic and beautiful and clear above you - always present, always there - for you.

Blessings.

And a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud, “This is my beloved Son; listen to him.”
