The storms that rage around don’t have to rage within. Jesus.

When the world feels unstable, you find your footing by looking at Jesus.

It’s the new year and after some have been wishing 2020 to disappear it is clear now that the change of calendar date does not mean all is fine in the world. The quick lockdown here recently was like a stamp, a stark reminder to that. But God is still God and he is still speaking.

Just as Jesus told the storm to be quiet when he was in the boat with the disciples, we can live from that same power and peace. The storms that rage around don’t have to rage within.

“Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world” 1 John 4:4

We are to live from God. FROM God. This is the blessing of being in relationship with him. He gives us saving grace and loving kindness that is never ending and flows constantly. Our lives can live from this resource of God.

“We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

To live from him we need to continually go to him, our resource and ensure we are filled up. Just like we can’t keep driving our car if we don’t fill it with fuel. It runs out, it splutters, it stops. Living life here on earth can’t happen well if we are empty of what we need and if we put the wrong fuel in. The worlds fuel is currently fear, alarm, chaos and judgement. From experience we know this doesn’t make us go well.

God is love, peace, mercy and Grace. For those who have experienced it, we feel like we come to life for the first time.

When all around is unstable look at Jesus and see him steadfast. He is steady and he hasn’t changed and he has endless resource.

What do you need to put in place each day and each week to refuel? What do you need to put in place to live from God? He is there and he is ready for you.

Blessings
