Waiting

It can be very tiring and hard to understand what is happening when we can’t see evidence that good changes are happening or it looks like nothing is happening. So it doesn’t work to stare at our lives where it seems stagnant and blocked.

We need to see our lives and the situation as God sees it, and we need to be keep choosing to see this way and maintain focus on what God says. So in the waiting time we can develop our spiritual endurance skills of holding firm to what God says and trusting his plans will prevail. We learn to trust that his love never fails (1 Cor 13:8).

He is always with us through every season and is so kind and gracious, continually redirecting us and showing us again and again what the truth really is.

So while the waiting journey is tough and tiring, the strength and endurance we need is in Jesus, who is right beside us. We need to choose everyday to see as he sees and trust him.

Decide today that waiting is not time to opt out and give up, it is time to develop our spiritual muscles and become stronger in the Lord.

Psalm 27:13-14 I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Psalm 33:20-22 We wait in hope for the Lord, he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.

Psalm 42:8 By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me.
