What’s in your hands?

Be present.

Deb Peacock

Distraction is all around and it seems many are asking questions and wondering if they should take on more things in their life. But I keep hearing - what’s in your hands? In other words, what is in your life right now that needs attention and needs to be stewarded or managed well? What core things in your life need attention? What foundation in your life have you not given time to getting set right? And, where has God got you placed now? Be present.

Get into the main thing and get that set up so you have the base right and only then consider the peripheral and the extra things.

To those desperate to run ahead to the wonder but frustrated with feeling held back, what is in your hands? The hope and the promise for the future is there - if God said it, it is secure, so you can relax into working with what’s in your hands now. You can trust that working well in the small things will build solid foundation to prepare you for the more.

What has the Lord put in your hands now? Attend to it, show up in that space and be present. Remember, what you have there to work with is gifted to you from the Lord. Don’t despise what he has given to you. Rejoice in gratefulness in what he has given. Learn all there is to learn in where he has you right now. Determine to get every great thing out of where he has you now because in time you move on ahead and onto other things, only able to take the learnings with you.

He is in your future and caretaker over your future while you be present, stepping through the current space and learning and growing through what is in front of you. He values the current space and is in it with you. He is teaching you more than you realise. He nudges you along to step and step and step taking you forward into next spaces at the best time.

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand. Zechariah 4:10
