You were born to run!

Deb Peacock

The Lord wants you to run, run ahead now on the path he has laid out before you. It feels to hard to run and even impossible for some. Some even feel like it’s been so long they don’t know how to run and have given up believing they could have strength and fitness required.

God has been speaking to me about the weights and the things holding us back and how it’s time to drop those things. Let go. It’s so hard to let go of things that have taken up a lot of time, you’ve invested so much care and energy into. Perhaps there are people you’ve been willing to come with you and go forward with God and they don’t want to. They don’t want to come with you. While this is very hard and grievous they don’t have to go with you. They get to choose where and when they go.

You get to choose if you will follow God and keep in step with him in direction and timing too. Life with the Lord’s blessing and purpose for us happens when we obey him in both direction and timing. Will you go with him or will you hold back so you can hold on to other things?

Once the weights of being held back are dropped and the burden is light as you stand beside Jesus you can move freely in step with him. You can go forward on the adventure that is his plan for you and for the world. Let him show you what is holding you back. Let him show you what’s really going on. Let him show you how to run again.

Praise God that he goes before us, beside us and comes behind as protection as well. He cares for our hearts as we wrestle with letting go. He strengthens us as boldly step despite the fear. He is a good God!

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12:1-2
