You’re not out of the game

YOU’RE NOT OUT OF THE GAME

Recently I felt like God was saying you’re not out of the game. He was speaking to two groups of people. There were those who had experience a huge and very difficult trial or circumstance that broke them away from their community and their life as they knew it. They felt shattered and in breakdown, unable to be repaired.

The others were people who grew so weary and tired from the relentless movement and the pace of everything and so eventually they gave up feeling defeated and thinking they couldn’t do it anymore. The thoughts of it’s too hard, it’s too much, I can’t go on, I can’t do it, I am not strong enough have all overwhelmed and contributed to the giving up and opting out. As they watched others continue on, not giving up they felt like they were less than them, they were failures and felt guilt over not being strong enough, not being good enough, not being like others.

I AM REACHING YOU

But God is coming to reach you. He is reaching out his hand to those who have pulled out and he isn’t just reaching out to you, he is reaching you. His arm stretches out and his hand is right there in front of you. You are not beyond reach for him and you are not out of the game. He is the God of the second, third, fourth and more chances because he covered everything on the cross for you. He comes, he reaches you. You are not too far gone. You are not left behind unable to be in community. You are within his reach. The Lord is your encourager.

His grace is enough. His grace is enough to bring you back together within yourself, to reconnect you to your purpose, your path, to heal your heart and make you whole. He is reaching you. Though you might feel knocked out of the game, he is there reaching you and you are not left in the dust broken and forgotten. He is there reaching you.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:19

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Luke 15:4

ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER

As you take his hand to stand again, he is saying the walk or the run or the race with him is just step by step. He is reminding you that you have walked all of your true life, all of your life with him. You know how to walk one foot after the other. And this walk is with him hand in hand. One foot in front of the other.

There is no need to know all of up ahead, for now is the time to be lifted up and put one foot in front of the other. Step by step with Jesus. You are still in the game, he has come for you to help you up, his strength for you is right beside you as you put one foot in front of the other.

Blessings,
