Attack against unity
IN THE ATTACK AGAINST UNITY GRATEFULNESS IS KEY
Deb Peacock
Lately there is a strong temptation to become offended and take things to heart that are not personal. Opportunity after opportunity is being presented for you to agree with offence, like a barrage and it has been relentless. The ultimate purpose of this spiritual attack of temptation is to bring division amongst God’s people. It’s a time where we are joining together in a more real and meaningful way so of course any strategy will be to cause division.
In time with the Lord, I was reminded that when we are in a barrage of things to do, things to deal with we can be choosing to respond well and respond in grace BUT the key is to take time to be GRATEFUL. Being grateful takes us back to God’s perspective and reminds us how big he is relative to what is going on each day. It reminds us of what we have with him, instead of looking at what is being taken away.
When faced with the next thing that tempts you to be offended or to be hurt when it is not personal:
Disagree with division
Forgive and bless
Thank the Lord for who he is and his care, provision and guidance
Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. Psalms 100:4-5
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:1-5
