God calls the timid
GOD CALLS THE TIMID
by Deb Peacock
If you are feeling timid, afraid and lacking in confidence, then perhaps this word is for you. As I was with the Lord I heard him speak:
I say to the timid to come forward. You don’t expect to be chosen and don’t expect to get your chance but I see you and call you forward. Being loud doesn’t make you chosen first in my kingdom. To the timid who are waiting to grow in confidence to be able to do that which I have called them, you don’t need to wait anymore, just ask me the next step and I will give it to you, I will tell you the next step and I will have it designed just for you so you are capable of taking it. Remember courage comes from me. I don’t alert you to the next step and then withdraw from you so you are left afraid and unable to step, I show you and then go with you to help you. Ask me for the next step. That dream you have with me is not too big, you didn’t get it wrong.
God has a way of calling forward those who seem to be the least, the weakest, the younger, the less capable, the least likely to be thought of and shows that every person is loved and important to him. He shows that what he requires of us or gifts us to do in life happens because he is with us.
“Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:8
Moses led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt which was no small thing. But Moses did not think he would be able to do this. God told him he could because he was with him and would help him. God helped Moses realise who he was and supported him through it all.
“But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” And God said, “I will be with you.”” Exodus 3:11-12
Jeremiah in the bible said he didn’t know how to speak let alone be the prophet God said he was. God went with him and Jeremiah did what God had purposed for him to do.
“”Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 1:6-8
Its your turn and your time. Don’t wait for your timidity to leave and confidence to come, look to the Lord and step beside him, allowing his presence to strengthen you to do it.
Blessings, Deb
